As Chief Development Officer for the YMCA of Greenville, MaryEllis brings a bold vision and deep passion for elevating the Y’s mission to new heights through leadership and fundraising. She serves as the staff liaison to the YMCA of Greenville Foundation Board and the YMCA of Greenville Association’s Philanthropy Committee, while collaborating closely with branch leaders to align development with programmatic goals. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of Foundation and Fundraising Innovation.
MaryEllis serves on the boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Piedmont Chapter, Christ Church Endowment Corporation, and Camp Alleghany for Girls. She is an active member of the Junior League of Greenville, the Greenville Clemson Club, Women We Admire, and Greenville Women Giving.
With over 15 years in capital, endowment, and annual campaigns, MaryEllis consistently demonstrates her expertise and passion for philanthropy. She was named a Chamberlain Scholar by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation for Philanthropy in 2022, Best and Brightest 35 and Under in 2021 from Greenville Business Magazine, and National Philanthropy Day Honoree as an Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2024.
MaryEllis graduated from Clemson University, earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential a certification from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
